Master of Jurisprudence - Global Program
Global Master of Jurisprudence Program is designed for non-lawyers who seek to enhance professional growth through a more profound knowledge of law, business management, and leadership. Offered by the University of Washington School of Law, in collaboration with Asia Pacific Health Corporation, this program provides students without a legal background with access to one of the world's premier interdisciplinary legal educations and prepares them to navigate complexities, which they may increasingly encounter when advancing into higher leadership roles, with confidence.
Graduates will develop critical thinking skills, learn to identify legal issues, and communicate effectively about legal matters across a wide range of industries, including financial, healthcare, international business, intellectual property and technology, and human resources.
Application Requirements
Admission to the Master of Jurisprudence - Global Program requires a bachelor's degree (or the equivalent).
Applicants must demonstrate an interest in the study of law and its application to a particular subject matter area or an interest in law and policy. There are no prerequisite courses for admission, but students must be able to articulate their reason for seeking legal education and how it applies to their career aims.
Degree and GPA Requirements
Admission to the Master of Jurisprudence - Global Program requires a bachelor's degree (or the equivalent). In addition, applicants must demonstrate an interest in the study of law and its application to a particular subject matter area or an interest in law and policy.
English Proficiency
English language proficiency (ELP) is required for graduate study at the University of Washington. Every applicant whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency. Proficiency can be demonstrated in one of the following ways: » A bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution located in the United States and where English is the medium of instruction. » A bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree from an institution in Australia, the Bahamas, Canada, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, or the United Kingdom and where English is the medium of instruction. While enrolled at the degree-granting school, the student must be in residence on campus. » Official documentation from the applicant’s undergraduate, graduate, or professional degree-granting institution (if the institution is in a country other than those listed in #2 above) verifying that all instruction is in English. A minimum of three years of enrollment at the institution is required. » Official English Language Test Score. » TOEFL iBT: 80 (MyBest Accepted) » IELTS: 6.5 » Duolingo: 110 * Some Concentrations may require higher scores.

Application Checklist
Statement of Purpose (1-2 pages)
Your Statement of Purpose should describe your background, primary area of interest in law, career goals, and the educational objectives that you expect to meet through the program.
Résumé
Your Résumé should list educational qualifications, work experience, and any other professional affiliations relevant to the application.
Two Letters of Recommendation
Applicants who have not yet earned a bachelor's degree are encouraged to include at least one letter from a faculty member or other individual qualified to evaluate their academic abilities. Strong recommendations come from professors or academic professionals who are familiar with the applicant's work and can provide a detailed assessment of their potential. Applicants who have been out of school for an extended period may submit professional and/or character references in place of academic letters.
Transcripts
Transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Please also upload transcripts for in-progress degrees, and for degrees that you did not complete.
Test Scores
Applicants are encouraged but not required to submit their official report of their GRE, GMAT, or LSAT test scores. When submitted with an application, the admissions committee will consider these scores as part of a holistic admissions process; in some cases, the scores can strengthen an application.
